The 1973 World Championship Tennis circuit was one of the two rival professional male tennis circuits of 1973. It was organized by World Championship Tennis (WCT). The WCT circuit divided the players into two groups of 32 players, with each group playing 11 tournaments of the 22 tournaments.

Stanley Roger "Stan" Smith, born December 14, 1946 in Pasadena, California, is a former world No. 1 American tennis player and two time Grand Slam singles champion who also, with his partner Bob Lutz, formed one of the most successful doubles teams of all time. Together, they won many major titles all over the world. In 1973, he won his second and last year end championship title at the Dallas WCT Finals. Smith won the 1973 Atlanta Classic Singles Championship amd $10,000 prize. In 1972 he wao over $100,000 in prizes.
